General view of the Home of Aran store with cash desk and logoSince the early ’90s, the AranSweaterMarket has grown from the small island community of Inis Mór to one of the country’s leading suppliers of Aran Knitwear.

With markets now in Killarney and Shannon Airport as well as the Aran Islands, the company works with only the best of Irish suppliers and designers, to bring the beauty of real authentic Aran knitwear to a wide audience.

Store Design worked closely with Colm McCarthy and his team to create the Aran Sweater Market’s latest outlet in Grafton Street, Dublin. The brief was to maintain the authentic market look using rugged and natural materials and provide a fully functional and versatile retail fit-out.

Driftwood, oak sleepers, sandblasted, charred, and lacquered timbers were used in combination with natural stone flooring and tongue and groove wall paneling to create a relaxed market environment.

The wall display areas utilize an effective merchandising display system INSET 8 which is coloured to become invisible in the overall scheme. The system provides full versatility to meet the needs of a modern-day retail outlet.
